This card was released as a Wizards Black Star Promo and was given away with the purchase of a ticket for the theatrical release of Spell of the Unown: Entei starting April 6, 2001 for as long as stocks lasted. In Japan, it was one of nine Unnumbered Promotional cards available in the Premium File 2, which was initially sold at participating cinemas showing Spell of the Unown: Entei from July 8, 2000 and was followed by a general release on August 5, 2000. This was the first Reverse Holofoil card released outside Japan.
